I founded the JSU at my school because I saw that there were so many Jewish students without a space to bring us together. With JSU, I was able to successfully create a club that students can call their home.
The importance of community and standing up for yourself is the most impactful lesson I learned from JSU. In a time of rising antisemitism, we must stand up to hatred, but most importantly, we must stand together.
JSU is an incredible place to be and is just a great way to build community in your school — my JSU meetings just bring so many people in. So many different friendships have been created because of it. It’s just a really fun place to be.
JSU is a place where I feel the most comfortable being a proud Jewish student in both my school, local community, and the country. Being with other students who share my love and pride for Judaism is an extremely unique and valuable.
What started as a club with Jews in the school meeting up in the morning turned into JSU and actually learning about Judaism and figuring out who you are. It definitely had a big impact on my life.
